With a passion for small and middle-market businesses, he has efficiently partnered with owners to navigate through complex operational and financial challenges. He has focused owners towards the impact of business decisions and management team alignments, on realizing a company’s long-range goals. He has assisted owners in maximizing their company’s enterprise value, making the company more attractive to financial institutions, investors, potential buyers, and employees. Mark never loses site of what every owner knows: employees are their most valuable asset.
Mark is adept at quickly identifying problems and taking decisive action. As a trusted advisor, Mark has assisted clients in debt restructuring, renegotiation of covenants, squeezing cash by reducing days sales outstanding and increasing inventory turns to better than industry standards. He had directed companies in (1) reducing expenses and risk by employing his extensive network of key service providers, (2) implementing profit improvement plans which include performance based incentives for key employees, and (3) preparing owners for potential buy/sell merger and acquisition activities. Mark provides a value added service of diligently evaluating the infrastructure which supports a business, and if necessary realigning systems, people, and procedures.
Prior to joining B2B CFO®, Mark was both the owner of his own advisory firm and a partner in a national CFO professional services firm. His clients have consisted of companies closely held, owned by entrepreneurs, and venture capital private equity. His clients have included a OCTG manufacturer, a women owned, Inc 500 fastest growing private company which provided over 300 oil and gas consultants to major energy companies, and a start-up stored value card transaction processing venture capital backed company.
He has also assisted an 87-year old third generation family-owned commercial tire dealer, a large homebuilder, two engineering firms, and a mobile hydraulic crane and rigging company. Mark gained valuable experience prior to 2002 working in a variety of senior financial executive positions. He served a multi-billion dollar refining and chemical processing company, an entrepreneur owned logistics, freight, and same-day delivery company, and a private equity owned domestic armored car company.
